Haiti and governance

The article “Haiti’s Impossible Dream: Good Governance” published in the Saturday’s Globe and Mail discusses Haiti’s government and its big role or rather lack of it in rebuilding Haiti. While the general opinion expressed by people interviewed about Haiti’s corrupt political system is abysmal, some feel that Haiti’s recent acceptance of international community’s help might be a good opportunity for the international community to influence Haiti’s economic and political stability. Among other things rebuilding the city’s infra structure, stabilizing the political system and improving the public education system were prominently recognized as areas needing immediate intervention.
