In his article 'Finding Your Strategy in the New Landscape', Pankaj Ghemawat offers us an excellent framework in order to address the main strategic challenges of the future. Let me elaborate on some of his points from a financial standpoint.

We are beginning to observe signs of a recovery in the economy. Sooner or later the crisis will come to an end. But the end of the crisis will not necessarily bring calm. The financial industry will be facing a new, demanding competitive map, which will inevitably entail deep changes and adjustments. Those players that have survived the crisis will find their existence will still be threatened if they do not tackle the challenge of change.
