Iran to Free American, Boosting Hopes of 3 Hikers' Release

TEHRAN - Iran said it will free a detained American on Saturday, raising hopes that the Islamic republic will soon release all three US hikers it has held for more than a year.

In a brief message, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance said: "Freedom of one of the American detainees on Saturday 20th of (Iranian month of) Shahrivar at 9:00 am (0430 GMT) at Hotel Esteghlal" in the capital Tehran.
